How Many People Can
Fit on a Hot Air Balloon?
This number can vary based on the kind of balloon tour you choose. Traverse City Balloon Tours offers two different options, private balloon tours and group tours. The private tour features a smaller basket that carries up to 4 passengers, while the group tour has a large basket that can carry up to 10 passengers.
Can I Bring a Camera?
Yes, we encourage bringing a small camera, hand-held video camera, or smartphone to capture all of the beautiful scenery you will see while soaring above Grand Traverse Bay. However, we are not responsible for any lost or broken possessions, so hold tight!
What Kind of Clothes
Should I Wear?
Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes, avoiding sandals, flip-flops or heels. We also recommend wearing pants and a hat, because it can get quite warm due to the burners.
Who Can Fly in a
Hot Air Balloon?
In order to fly in a hot air balloon, you must be at least 6 years old and 45 inches tall, in good physical condition, and not currently pregnant. Sorry, no infants in carriers or slings.
What Happens If My Flight is Postponed Due to Weather?
A hot air balloon ride is a fair weather activity, so if there is poor weather, high winds or rain, that causes your tour to get delayed, you can reschedule at your convenience, as long as your chosen date is available.
